High School Dinghy
This is for any high school youth and is open to any child in Clallam County. High School sailing has both a Fall and Spring season. No experience is needed to join, and we are expecting lots of new sailors this year. This team works hard learning and training to sail fast and it is the best way to spend lots of time on the water.
- Spring Season is March-May
- Practices run Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 3:30-6:30 PM. In some cases, Friday practice will be used to prep for regattas.
- Cost is $300 for the spring season. A limited number of scholarships are available. For more information about our scholarship program please visit our scholarship page.
- Regular attendance is required to be on the team, and once your sailor is a freshman, they need to commit to participating in regatta's.
- Students can earn their Varsity letters through Port Angeles high school, even though we are officially a 'club sport'

"As your sailor progresses, they will build to a point where they have the knowledge and skills to participate in Regattas, or sailboat races. These are often 2-day events held as far away as Seattle. There are usually between 20 and 60 sailboats racing in any given race, so they can be quite the experience once your sailors are ready. Students in the 8th grade are only able to participate in certain events, but sometimes it takes up to a year to be ready to race in large regattas, so it is a very important way to jumpstart your sailing."

High School Keelboat Team
The High School Keelboat team with be for sailors attempting to qualify for the high school Keelboat Championships on Oct 19-20th. This regatta will be sailed in J80, but we will be practicing aboard our Santa Cruz 27, Malolo.
This is going to be a small team with a minimum of 4 sailors and a max of 5, so space is limited this year. Preference will be given to sailors who are on the high school sailing team, that have attended keelboat camps, and/or that have other keelboat experience (particularly racing).
The main focus will be on around the buoy racing and performance sailing. We will spend about 50% of our time on spinnaker work. This is a mixed team, meaning we need to have at least one girl on the team, awesome!
