More than a sail — an experience with purpose
Our skippered charters are more than just time on the water. Every charter is led by a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain who is also a sailing instructor, which means your sail can include insight into the fundamentals of sailing, local waters, and life on the Strait. Many of our captains also bring backgrounds in marine biology, ecology, or other sciences, adding depth and perspective to your experience.
Just as importantly, when you book a charter, you’re doing more than enjoying a beautiful day on the water — you’re directly supporting our youth sailing and educational programs. Charter revenue helps us get kids on the water, build confidence, and grow lifelong skills through sailing. It’s an afternoon of adventure and a meaningful investment in our community.
A skippered charter includes exclusive use of the sailboat for your group (up to 3 guests on our 22’ vessel or up to 6 guests on our larger boats) and one of our licensed captains. Advanced reservations are required. Due to insurance requirements, we do not offer bareboat (non-skippered) charters.
Charters depart from Port Angeles Boat Haven Marina, and we’re happy to help shape your sail around your ideal experience — whether that’s a relaxed daytime harbor cruise, a hands-on introduction to sailing, or a memorable sunset sail. When you book, we’ll talk through vessel options, timing, and sail plans to make the experience just right for you.

Keith was a great captain for a first time sailing as a family with two young kids. He provided lots of information and the opportunity for everyone in the family to participate. Based on other experiences, two hours can be a long time on a boat for our kids but they loved it and didn't want it to end.
