More than a sail — an experience with purpose
Our skippered charters are more than just time on the water. Every charter is led by a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain, and many are also certified sailing instructors, so your sail can include insight into the fundamentals of sailing, local waters, and life on the Strait. Our captains come from a range of backgrounds, including marine biology, ecology, and other sciences, and all of them share a genuine passion for sailing and time on the water. That passion shows up in every trip, whether or not formal instruction is part of the plan.
Getting people out on the water is at the heart of everything we do. As a nonprofit, we use charters to help educate guests and locals alike about the waters we sail, and every booking directly supports our mission. Charter revenue underpins our educational programs, primarily our youth sailing programs, helping us get kids on the water, build confidence, and grow lifelong skills through sailing. It's an afternoon of adventure and a meaningful investment in our community.
A skippered charter includes exclusive use of the sailboat for your group (up to 3 guests on our 22' vessel or up to 6 guests on our larger boats) and one of our licensed captains. Advanced reservations are required. Due to insurance requirements, we do not offer bareboat (non-skippered) charters.
Charters depart from Port Angeles Boat Haven Marina, and we're happy to help shape your sail around your ideal experience — whether that's a relaxed daytime harbor cruise, a hands-on introduction to sailing, or a memorable sunset sail. When you book, we'll talk through vessel options, timing, and sail plans to make the experience just right for you.
Please note: In accordance with Washington State regulations, applicable sales tax will be added to all charter bookings.

What our guests have to say...
We had such a wonderful experience, can't wait to come back!!
We didn't have much wind that day but enjoyed the sail nonetheless. Great conversation, beautiful scenery, on the water, sunshine. Captain and his mate, Rebecca? are great down to earth folks. Hope to go again. |
We had the best time on your beautiful boat. Thank you so very much. We'd love to do again! |
Keith was a great captain for a first time sailing as a family with two young kids. He provided lots of information and the opportunity for everyone in the family to participate. Based on other experiences, two hours can be a long time on a boat for our kids but they loved it and didn't want it to end. It was a great experience, and all of us can't wait for our next opportunity to get out on the water!
Captain Eric was wonderful!! Very knowledgeable and willing to share information. Allowed us to be as involved or as passive as we liked. Great conversation and an amazing day out on the water.
