Adult Dinghy

Ever dreamed of gliding through the water, salt spray in your face, in control of your own sailboat? This course is open to all levels but is intended as an introduction to sailing in small boats, or dinghies. Our fleet is comprised of Vanguard 15’s, a fast and fun 2 person dinghy. You will learn how to rig and launch the boats, how to perform basic maneuvers safely, and how to tie the relevant knots. With a little practice and the right conditions you may even get to experience the magic of planing under sail!
Even though these boats serve well for training new sailors, they do require some balance, agility, and fitness to sail in stronger winds. We will also teach you how to right your boat after a capsize! Classes are weather dependent and may be limited to onshore only if too severe. Lifejackets and wetsuits will be required by all participants.
